Youth

At FCC, our Youth have a safe space to be themselves and to feel loved and accepted for who they are. As an Open & Affirming congregation, this applies to all people, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation, and that message can be especially important during the vulnerable developmental time of 6th through 12th grade.

Youth meet regularly on Wednesday nights for the 6pm meal followed by programming from 6:30-7:30, and participate in intergenerational service projects designed to connect them with the larger community and get them engaged in social justice issues. Youth are also encouraged to be leaders, and are given the opportunity to help with the younger children in Children Worship & Wonder as “junior greeters” (with adults present) and in other leadership roles.
