We have tentatively agreed to assist Kentucky Refugee Ministries (KRM) with resettlement of a refugee family arriving from the Democratic Republic of the Congo on September 25. The family of four consists of a mother in her 50’s and three children ages 21, 18, and 15. We will help furnish their apartment, provide them with food and any financial gifts donated, and welcome them at the airport. Any ongoing support beyond these initial efforts is yet to be determined.

Derek Feldman from Kentucky Refugee Ministries (KRM) will be at FCC on Sunday, August 18th, during the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:30).  He will give a presentation on the current state of KRM and answer questions regarding FCC’s upcoming participation in sponsoring a refugee family scheduled to arrive in Lexington on 9/25/19.  Please plan to attend and find out how we all can help inthis important ministry.

There is a list of items needed for the apartment on the bulletin board between the sanctuary and Clinton Street entrance- if you already have any of these items you are willing to provide, please sign your name (please do not purchase any items at this point). Martha Harris and Cathy Culbertson will be coordinating the collection of these and other items. Thank you in advance for your prayers and support!
